Bucks job fair set for Wednesday

Job fair scheduled for Wednesday at YMCA

DOYLESTOWN The Central Bucks Family YMCA is scheduled to host the "Bucks Works Job Fair" on Wednesday, and 40 businesses are expected to be on hand to discuss employment opportunities with job seekers, according to the YMCA.

Participating companies are expected to include Comcast, Verizon, local car dealerships, and health-care firms. A full list is available at cbfymca.org.

Representatives from local political offices and career centers are also set to be on hand with more information about resources for those seeking employment.

The unemployment rate in Bucks County was 4.2 percent in December 2014, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, down from 5.6 percent a year before.

Unemployment has largely fallen across the country over the last year as well, according to bureau statistics. Pennsylvania's rate fell from 7.4 percent in 2013 to 5.8 percent in 2014.
