Man killed after losing control of motorcycle in West Philly
The young biker appeared to lost control of his motorcycle, police said.
A 25-year-old man was killed early Saturday after he apparently lost control of his motorcycle while riding in the Parkside section of West Philadelphia.
Police said the man was riding a 1996 Suzuki westbound on Girard Ave. about 12:20 a.m. near 38th St. when the motorcycle suddenly dropped and slid while approaching the entrance ramp to Interstate 76. The man's body struck the passenger side bumper of a 2014 GMC automobile. The model of the GMC was not released.
The motorcycle did not strike the automobile but continued sliding until it came to a stop at the ramp.
The rider was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:58 a.m. His identity was not immediately available.
No injuries were reported to the driver of the other vehicle.
