The status of legal proceedings against former Eagle Sam Rayburn was misstated on the front page of Sunday's Inquirer. He faces two felony counts of obtaining or attempting to obtain a controlled substance by forgery or fraud.

A story in the Weekend section Friday gave the wrong date for an appearance by the group Tinted Windows at the Theater of Living Arts. The band is scheduled to play the TLA on Aug. 1.

Two captions that appeared in a special section May 31 to commemorate The Inquirer's 180th anniversary did not fully credit the lender of the objects. An Inquirer news bag from the 1950s was the property of the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia, and a Philadelphia Inquirer Almanac for 1885 Illustrated was the gift of Helen M. Beitler to the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia.

The Inquirer wants its news report to be fair and correct in every respect, and regrets when it is not.
