Cops ID family crash victims

STATE POLICE on Friday identified three members of a Georgia family who were killed in an accident Thursday on the New Jersey Turnpike near Mount Laurel.

STATE POLICE on Friday identified three members of a Georgia family who were killed in an accident Thursday on the New Jersey Turnpike near Mount Laurel.

The victims were Ainsworth Mallett, 51, his wife, Jacqueline, 49, and their son, Drew, 12. The couple's daughter, Nicole, 18, was treated at Cooper University Hospital.

The family lived in Stone Mountain, Ga., and were on their way home after visiting Ainsworth Mallett's mother in Connecticut.

Lt. Stephen Jones said police are still investigating what caused a tractor-trailer to hit the back of a the family's Toyota Camry about 10 a.m. Thursday below Exit 5 near Mount Laurel.

Jones said a second car was involved in a minor way, and a second tractor-trailer swerved to avoid the accident.
