Students fight vice principal at Camden High

A fight erupted at Camden High School after a student pulled a fire alarm yesterday afternoon, police said.

The alarm was pulled about 1 p.m., according to Inspector Michael Lynch, forcing teachers to evacuate the students. During the evacuation, two students got into a fight with a vice principal, said Bart Leff, a district spokesman.

Another student set off firecrackers inside the building while the students were leaving, Lynch said.

Teachers, school security and responding officers quickly got the situation under control, Lynch said. One student was arrested on charges of creating a false public alarm, and no one was injured. - Allison Steele
