N.J. gang sting results in arrests of 1,844 people

A statewide New Jersey initiative launched in May to target gangs and violent criminals has resulted in 1,844 arrests, according to state Attorney General Anne Milgram.

The effort involved 19 of the state's 21 counties and what authorities called unprecedented cooperation among law-enforcement bodies, from municipal police departments to federal agencies. One of the most fruitful targets was Camden, where, the Attorney General's Office previously announced, there were 306 arrests. - Adrienne Lu
