OCEAN CITY, N.J. - Ocean City is buying a nearly two-acre tract of waterfront land to ensure public access to the Great Egg Harbor Bay.
The City Council voted to buy the land for $3 million. The state Green Acres Program is providing $738,775 in grant funding toward the purchase price.
The land will not be used for private development or other uses. It had been slated for an 18-unit condominium-hotel with more than 70 boat slips. - AP
