A 44-year-old man was charged Tuesday with murder in the beating death of an employee at a Camden trucking company last month, authorities said.

Antonio Cunningham of Camden is accused of killing Harry J. Hogans Jr., 66, also of Camden, at the River Road Trucking Co. on Feb. 24. Both men lived on the premises of the business at 1700 River Rd. in Camden. Hogans was an employee and Cunningham performed odd jobs.

Prosecutors said that Hogans had given about $500 cash to Cunningham to distribute to drivers for tolls and that Cunningham allegedly killed Hogan and fled with the money. Cunningham was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Task Force at a residence in the 1600 block of South Sixth Street in Camden. - Robert Moran
