One killed as truck carrying frozen turkeys overturns in Chester County
Turkeys and diesel fuel that spilled from the wreckage closed a section of Route 202 near West Chester.
One person died and two others were taken to area hospitals Saturday afternoon after a truck carrying frozen turkeys overturned in Goshen Township.
Diesel fuel and the tractor-trailer's cargo of turkeys spewed out onto Route 202 after the 12:25 p.m. accident, according to a Chester County dispatcher.
Hazmat workers cleaned up the fuel. However, Route 202 between South High Street and Westtown Road remained closed to traffic through the afternoon.
Police did not release the names of the dead or injured. The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
