Nutter wants access for limited English speakers

The Nutter administration yesterday released an executive order that instructs all city departments and agencies to come up with a "language access plan" to make it easier for residents with limited English skills to access city services.

The order specifically mentions "311," the citywide non-emergency call center that the Nutter administration has pledged to roll out by the end of 2008. The order also says the city will attempt to recruit more multilingual personnel.
