Hit-and-run victim ID'd as Bucks woman, 86

A woman killed by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night in Bristol Borough was identified yesterday as Cecilia Profy, 86. Officer Pete Faight said Profy was a lifelong resident of the Bucks County borough.

No arrest has been made in the death of Profy, who was killed around 6:30 p.m. while crossing Radcliffe Street near the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, not far from her home. An autopsy is scheduled for this morning, county coroner Joseph Campbell said.

Police are looking for the driver of a dark sport utility vehicle that struck Profy, stopped briefly, and then fled westbound on Radcliffe. The driver was described as a white man in his 50s, with salt-and-pepper hair and a beard or goatee, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.
