Teen gets jail in trade of gun found at Phila. robbery
HARRISBURG - A Harrisburg-area teen was sentenced Wednesday to 21/2 years in prison for trading a stolen handgun for crack cocaine. The gun later turned up in a May bank robbery in which Philadelphia Police Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski was killed.
Levi Swigart, 19, pleaded guilty in August to using a firearm in a cocaine transaction last January. Police say the Duncannon teen had stolen the revolver from his mother.
Swigart faced a five-year mandatory minimum sentence, but authorities said his age, lack of a significant criminal history, and cooperation in the investigation warranted a shorter sentence.
