Chester police seek man in wounding of boy, 13

Chester police were looking yesterday for a 19-year-old city man who they believe was involved in a shooting that injured a 13-year-old last week. A 15-year-old boy charged in connection with the shooting was arrested yesterday morning.

Police arrested the 15-year-old at 6:29 at his home. He will be tried as an adult for his alleged role in the shooting, which occurred near the 1400 block of Copeland Avenue on Friday and which left the young man with a gunshot wound in a leg.

Police were still looking for Tyrese Carter, 19, who often has been seen at Ninth and Tilghman Streets. Anyone with information about his whereabouts or the shooting is being asked to call Detective James Nolan at 610-447-8429. All tips will be kept confidential, police said. - Joelle Farrell
