Central Pennsylvania soldier is killed in Iraq

HARRISBURG - A central Pennsylvania soldier serving with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team has been killed in Iraq.

HARRISBURG - A central Pennsylvania soldier serving with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team has been killed in Iraq.

The state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs said Spec. Chad A. Edmundson, 20, of Williamsburg, died Wednesday of wounds he received when an improvised bomb detonated near his unit while they were on a walking patrol. Williamsburg is about 16 miles east of Altoona.

Edmundson was a member of the Lewistown-based Second Battalion, 112th Infantry. His death is the second in the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team's deployment. - AP
