Pa. hunting licenses now available with new system

HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania Game Commission officials say a new automated license system will make it easier - and quicker - for hunters to get ready for deer season.

HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania Game Commission officials say a new automated license system will make it easier - and quicker - for hunters to get ready for deer season.

Hunting and furtaker licenses for the 2009-10 seasons are now for sale using the new Pennsylvania Automated License System. Licenses went on sale Monday and are available on the commission's Web site - www.pgc.state.pa.us - as well as in person at more than 600 locations.

The new system uses the applicant's driver's license to record personal data.

Game Commission officials say applications for antlerless deer licenses can now be submitted three weeks earlier. Residents can begin applying on July 13 and nonresidents on July 27. License costs are unchanged, but there is a new 70-cent processing fee for each new purchase. - AP
