Philadelphia Tribune president and chief executive Robert W. Bogle will serve as Mayor Nutter's appointee on the Independence Blue Cross board of directors, the mayor's office said yesterday. Bogle also is a commissioner of the Delaware River Port Authority and serves on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

Bogle replaces Terry Gillen, director of the city's Redevelopment Authority, who was one of Nutter's top advisers. Gillen asked to be replaced on the board, according to the Nutter administration.

While Gillen did not take compensation from the board, the 31 outside members who sit on the board with the company's chief executive officer and chief operating officer are paid $10,500 per year, and $1,000 for each meeting of the full board or any of its committees. - Miriam Hill and Jeff Shields
