The Nutter administration has ended its search for a chief planner and commerce director. Mayor Nutter said Thursday that Alan Greenberger, acting deputy mayor for planning and economic development, would fill that position permanently.

Greenberger will become one of five deputy mayors in the administration. The post was previously held by Andrew Altman, who left a year ago to oversee efforts to revitalize London after the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Nutter also announced that Kevin Dow, acting chief operating officer for the Commerce Department, would fill that job permanently. - Marcia Gelbart
