Man, 18, struck and killed on Norristown line

An 18-year-old man was struck and killed by a SEPTA train on the Norristown High Speed Line between the Penfield and West Overbrook stations about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Haverford Township police reported.

Police did not release the victim's name, pending notification of his family.

Sgt. Michael Glenn, a spokesman for Haverford police, said SEPTA and township police were investigating.

The victim, who was struck on the inbound SEPTA track, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no injuries to the train operator or passengers, police said. - Jennifer Lin
