Man sentenced to death wants his guns back

EASTON, Pa. - An man appealing a death sentence for fatally shooting a police officer last year has been denied in his attempt to get authorities to return more than a dozen guns seized from his home. George Hitcho Jr. was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death for killing Freemansburg Officer Robert Lasso in August 2011. This month, Hitcho filed a motion claiming investigators had wrongly withheld eight pistols, five rifles, and two shotguns seized from his home. He wants them returned to himself or his son. Northampton County Judge Anthony Beltrami denied the motion. - AP
