Man found shot dead in vacant Frankford lot

Police on Saturday found the body of a man who had been shot in the lower back in a vacant lot on the 5400 block of Akron Street in Philadelphia's Frankford section.

A neighbor of the lot reported the body about 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Police found the man, about 30 years old, wrapped in a brown comforter and lying face down in the dirt.

No other information was available, a police spokeswoman said.
