Rutgers graduates are near top in earnings vs. tuition

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Rutgers University is near the top of a survey that ranks colleges on their return on investment.

The survey in the January issue of SmartMoney magazine compared what graduates earned three and 15 years after school with what they had paid in tuition. Rutgers ranked sixth, ahead of Ivy League schools such as Princeton and Harvard Universities.

The University of Georgia topped the list of 50 schools, followed by Texas A&M, the University of Texas, Georgia Tech, and the University of Washington.

The survey found the median salary for Rutgers graduates was about $50,000 three years after graduation and about $92,000 after 15 years. - AP
