GOP budget panel advances tax bill to Senate floor
It was unclear before the vote whether either senator would vote to advance the bill, but Sen. Ron Johnson said he wanted to keep the legislative process going and Sen. Bob Corker said he'd reached a deal with party leaders that addresses some of his concerns over how the bill would affect the deficit.
Republicans successfully sent their tax bill to the Senate floor Tuesday with support from all 12 Republicans on the Senate budget panel, including Bob Corker (Tenn.) and Ron Johnson (Wis.).
