Diana Rose "Dede" Lupica, godmother to many, dies at 75

Diana Rose "Dede" Lupica, who dedicated her life to caring for children even though she had none of her own, died Saturday of cancer.

Diana Rose "Dede" Lupica, who dedicated her life to caring for children even though she had none of her own, died Saturday of cancer.

She was 75 and lived in Upper Darby. She formerly lived in Overbrook.

Although she and her husband, Joseph Lupica, had no children of their own, they welcomed many children into their home. She had a total of 11 godchildren, to all of whom she showed unconditional love, her family said.

Diana was born in Philadelphia to Ralph D'Amico and the former Nicolette Tucci. She and her husband were married for 52 years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Laura McTaggart, and a brother, John D'Amico.

Services: Funeral Mass 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Donato Church, 65th and Callowhill streets. Friends may call at 7 this evening at the D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, and at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Marple.
