William H. Robbins, 82, a retired NASA scientist honored for improving satellite-communications technology, died Saturday.
He died at a nursing home in Olmsted Falls, outside Cleveland, of complications from a 2005 stroke. The death was confirmed by the David Bogner Family Funeral Home in North Ridgeville.
Mr. Robbins was part of a NASA team honored with an Emmy in 1985 for work on satellite communications. He worked for NASA for 38 years, almost all at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland. - AP
