Jamieson service is set

A memorial service for former Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge D. Donald Jamieson will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in Courtroom 443 of City Hall.

A memorial service for former Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge D. Donald Jamieson will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in Courtroom 443 of City Hall.

Speakers will include former Gov. Ed Rendell, former President Judge Edward J. Bradley, and members of Judge Jamieson's family.

Judge Jamieson, 87, a Philadelphia native, died Dec. 15 of natural causes at his home in DeLand, Fla. He was appointed to Common Pleas Court in 1965, and elected president judge in 1970. He was known for his leadership in court reform. He returned to private practice in 1977.

A reception in Courtroom 446 will follow the memorial service. A previously scheduled service was postponed due to snow.
