Letters | Rights of American women are under assault

THE HEALTH of American women is in jeopardy. The Supreme Court has upheld the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, which will set back reproductive health freedom more than 30 years. This brazen disregard for women's health, women's ability to make choices and women's lives is simply unacceptable.

Politicians aren't qualified to make medical decisions. Please urge members of Congress to pass the Freedom of Choice Act. American women need more rights, not more restrictions. Protect women's health, and protect families.

A tale of two photos

I read your April 20 editorial on the front-page picture of the Virginia Tech killer in total shock. You seriously believe that this picture will have the same effect as facing an actual gun?

I trust you showed that picture to someone who has been actually shot - and they agreed with you.

In the same edition, on Page 3, you showed a picture of a 68-year-old woman under the truck after her accident. Please explain what societal benefit was achieved from this picture.
