Letters: Widening beer sales a good idea for Pa.

It is very convenient to be able to purchase beer in "convenience" stores or drugstores in the states that allow these sales. It is very inconvenient for a visitor to find a distributor or friendly bar to purchase beer in states, such as Pennsylvania, that do not allow this type of purchase ("Keep beer in beer stores," May 19).

Making it "easier" for someone to purchase beer, drink, and then drive, which seems to be the strongest argument against changing the law, is poppycock. Anyone who needs or wants a drink while driving will find a way to get it no matter what the law.

Let's join our neighboring states and allow purchasing a six-pack or 12-pack at outlets other than bars and distributors.
