Letters: Let Obama have his smokes

I HAVE never smoked a cigarette in my entire life, but take it from me, I know how hard it is to quit. The more you smoke the more receptors in the brain develop to keep you addicted (look it up, it's not rocket science).

I HAVE never smoked a cigarette in my entire life, but take it from me, I know how hard it is to quit. The more you smoke the more receptors in the brain develop to keep you addicted (look it up, it's not rocket science).

I watched my mother kill herself slowly over 40 years of smoking three to four packs of unfiltered cigarettes daily, and I have an older sister right now who is doing the same. If President-elect Obama's only transgression is to sneak a cigarette here and there, I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that nobody cares.

This should not even be an issue. There are bigger fish to fry when he gets into the White House and, let's face it, that stress alone will probably keep him from quitting altogether.
