Letters: Bad bike analogy

OP-ED WRITER Alex Doty of the Bicycle Coalition seems to suggest that popular protests against traffic violations by cyclists should take into account that some pedestrians jaywalk.

True, but not very important in this debate. Pedestrians risk their own well-being by crossing other than at crosswalks - but cyclists endanger the health and, as seen recently, the lives of pedestrians by their disregard for laws too often flouted.

Having more cyclists in Philadelphia seems to have produced more hard feelings, more serious injuries and not much more safety.
