Letters: Phil Jasner, a real pro
AS A YOUNGSTER, I lived across the street from Phil Jasner. We grew and went our separate ways. On occasion, I would run into him or cross paths with his mother, Molly. After Phil became a sportswriter for the Daily News, I would often contact him about information concerning basketball.

As I followed his career, I realized I knew a real professional. His knowledge of the game and his presentation made you feel as though you were in attendance at the game. The city has lost a gem. Rest in peace, my friend. You are a legend.
