columnist and former baseball beat writer Bill Conlin on being awarded the Baseball Hall of Fame's J.G. Taylor Spink Award for his work as a baseball writer.

Conlin is what a writer in a major market like Philadelphia should be - unafraid to tell things like they are, and articulate it with such elegance and dignity. And also, as we all know, Mr. Conlin, a touch of sarcasm!
