Solution:

Having a beautiful yard and garden doesn't have to be a lot of work. Armed with a little know-how you can sit back and enjoy!

1. Water your lawn and plants early in the morning. This will give the plants plenty of time to absorb the water. You should also make sure that you water long enough to saturate an inch into the soil. This will ensure the roots are well hydrated.

2. To keep your flowers blooming, make sure you remove your deadheads as the flowers fade. For big flowers like geraniums, cut it off where the flower stem meets the mother stem. For bushier plants with lots of small flowers, wait until most of the flowers have died and then trim back about a third of the foliage.

3. If you store your tools in the garage or house, hang a mailbox in a central location. Put your frequently used tools in there and you'll be ready for some quick maintenance anytime.

4. If you're cutting back diseased plants, wash your tools in a solution of three parts rubbing alcohol and one part water. This will kill the germs so you don't spread them the next time you're working in the garden.
