Ruben Amaro Jr.: The Phillies general manager pulled off a huge deal in the summer by acquiring Roy Oswalt. He topped that in December by bringing Cliff Lee back to Philadelphia.

Sebastien LeToux: Left unprotected by Seattle in the 2009 MLS expansion draft, LeToux became a diamond in the rough for the Union, finishing 2010 with a club-best 14 goals and 11 assists.

Herb Magee: The Philadelphia legend won his 903rd game on Feb. 23 to pass Bobby Knight for the most NCAA men's basketball victories. Herbie, a shooting guru, is well on his way to 1,000 with 912 wins.

Phil Jasner: Our Sixers beat writer lost a courageous battle with cancer in December. His colleagues and friends at the Daily News will forever remember the great Phil Jasner, a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and four other Halls of Fame.

Mike Richards: The Flyers captain led his team to an amazing 4-3 conference semifinal series victory over the Bruins after trailing 3-0 in games and 3-0 in Game 7. The Flyers advanced to the Stanley Cup finals before losing in six games to the Blackhawks.

Al Bagnoli: The Penn football coach led his team to a second consecutive Ivy League championship and fifth in 10 years. Bagnoli's coaching job included guiding the team through the death of junior Owen Thomas.

Al Golden: The former Temple football coach saw his team go 8-4 this season, but losses in their final two games kept the Owls out of a second consecutive bowl game. In December, he was named the head coach at Miami.
