The Big East/SEC Challenge has been expanded for next season, with 12 games over 3 days, Dec. 1-3.

With only 12 SEC teams, four Big East basketball teams will not participate, as will be the case each year. Villanova is among the non-participants next season, along with Marquette, Notre Dame and South Florida.

This is the event's fifth year, although it was previously known as the SEC/Big East Invitational.

In previous years, there were four games at two neutral sites. Villanova played LSU in 2007.

The ESPN networks will televise all 12 games.
