'Nova's Wright adds to staff

Villanova basketball coach Jay Wright is adding his former video coordinator Kyle Neptune to the staff.

VILLANOVA basketball coach Jay Wright will add his former video coordinator Kyle Neptune to the staff, sources close to the situation have confirmed.

He replaces Billy Lange, who just left after two seasons to become an assistant for new Sixers' coach Brett Brown. Former Wildcat Baker Dunleavy, who's been one of Wright's assistants since 2010, will move up to associate head coach.

Neptune was the video coordinator from 2008-10 before heading to Niagra to become an assistant for Joe Mihalich. During the offseason he went to Hofstra when Mihalich got the job there.

Wright's other assistant is Philly native Ashley Howard, who was added in June.

Neptune, who's from Brooklyn, played at Lehigh.

"During his tenure [here] Kyle demonstrated the qualities you want to see in a young coach," Wright said on the team's website. "Commitment, passion and the ability to communicate with young people.

"Over the last 3 years he's learned from one of our game's accomplished teachers, and he returns to us a well-rounded and seasoned young coach. We're thilled to have him back."
