Marcus Smith fumbles in word choice over Chip Kelly's firing

Linebacker Marcus Smith has been unable to get meaningful playing time since the Eagles used a first-round pick on him in 2014. In addition to a playbook, turns out the kid could also use a thesaurus.

Smith originally said he was "ecstatic" about the surprise firing of coach Chip Kelly. A few hours later on Wednesday, he said he meant a different word.

"Apologize for the confusion," Smith Tweeted. "Earlier today in an interview I misspoke and used the word ecstatic to describe my reaction. I meant surprised."
