PLAYER OF THE YEAR
FORWARD
Evan Vare Central Bucks East
Simply put, Vare was sensational at every turn this season.
The Lafayette recruit followed up his dominant junior year with an even more impressive effort in his senior campaign. He scored 42 times and added 13 assists.
Every time Vare touched the ball, he was a threat to score, whether one-on-one with a defender, running onto a through ball, surrounded by several opponents, or off a restart. The forward made difficult plays routine, including tough-to-handle volleys or getting off a shot with little space to operate. One touch or sequence from him could change the trajectory of a game.
And he did all that with a big target on his back, much like the one that followed C.B. East all season.
Vare's efforts - his most impressive was perhaps a four-goal performance in the District 1 Class AAA semifinals - helped the Patriots go 26-0 and capture the Suburban One Continental, District 1 Class AAA and PIAA Class AAA championships.
