It's alive. Haverford School's winning streak remains intact after a thriller Friday night at Widener against West Catholic.

The Fords' school-record streak is now at 21 games after a 37-34 come-from-behind victory.

Seniors Malik Twyman and Tommy Toal led the offensive charge that led to 21 points scored in the final quarter.

Twyman rushed for 185 yards on 24 carries and a pair of ground tallies. Toal finished 9-of-18 passing for 215 yards and two touchdowns in the air and another on the ground.

The Catholic League Burrs entered the game as the last school to topple the Fords, the three-time defending Inter-Ac champions.

An 18-point Burrs lead in the third quarter suggested they would repeat the feat, last accomplished during Week 1 in 2014.

Haverford School (2-0) did itself few favors early.

The Fords were stymied three times on fourth-down plays in the first half. They opened the second quarter with a fourth-and-11 incompletion from their own 19-yard line.

The Burrs (1-2) turned the ensuing possession into six points after Da'Vion Kidd-Jackson connected with Tahj Powell for an 8-yard score.

Ahmad Kent made the Fords pay before the half. Kent tackled Twyman on a 4th and 1 at the Haverford 32. Kidd-Jackson eventually added a 1-yard score just before the half concluded.

The Fords eventually converted after Twyman scored late in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Toal tossed touchdown passes to Nate Whitaker (13 yards) and Sam Lindner (32 yards).

Toal hit Lindner for the go-ahead score with 7 minutes, 40 seconds left. Will Towle and Conner Mosebrook nabbed interceptions for the Fords.

Kidd-Jackson finished with 262 passing yards and three touchdown passes. The transfer from St. Joseph's Prep added a pair of ground scores.

Amadou Berry added 122 receiving yards.
