A big fourth quarter from Andy Pancoast and Chris Anderson helped Malvern Prep down Friends' Central, 49-46, Wednesday in nonleague boys' basketball.
Pancoast and Anderson each had six points in the final quarter, in which the host Friars outscored Friends' Central, 17-9.
Anderson finished with 12 points, and Pancoast added 10.
Jonathan Lawton scored 20 points for Friends' Central.
In other nonleague action, George School held off a late rally from visiting Del-Val Friends to win, 34-33. Jibri Loving scored 10 points for the Cougars. Asher Barry led Del-Val with 14.
Girls' Basketball
Two free throws by Michaela Trusk with five seconds left sealed a 30-26 win for Woodlynde over host Del-Val Friends in the Tri-County League. Trusk scored a team-high nine points.
Nonleague. Friends' Central couldn't dig out of a 13-point halftime deficit and fell to visiting Hun School, 59-47. Freshman Mikayla Vaughn scored 20 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in her second varsity game for Friends' Central.
