The Phillies added two former players — Rico Brogna and Wes Helms — as minor-league coaches on Thursday as they finalized their player development field staffs.

Brogna, who played for the Phillies from 1997 to 2000, will be a coach at double-A Reading under manager Greg Legg. Brogna was most recently a scout for the Angels. Helms, who played for the Phillies in 2007, will be a coach at triple-A Lehigh Valley under new manager Gary Jones, who was the third-base coach for the Cubs for the past four seasons.

The Phillies also return manager Shawn Williams at high-A Clearwater, manager Marty Molloy at single-A Lakewood, and manager Pat Borders at short-season single-A Williamsport. Ruben Gotay, who played four seasons in the majors, will be coach at Clearwater.

They added a second-team in the Gulf Coast League with Roly DeArmas and Nelson Prada serving as managers. Former Phillie Charlie Hayes, who coached last season at triple-A, is a coach on DeArmas' GCL Phillies East team and Matt Hockenberry, the ace of the final Temple University baseball team and a former Phillies minor-leaguer, will be the pitching coach for Prada's GCL Phillies West team.
