The Sixers have more talent and promise than they have in a long time. The buzz meant that more than 1000 area coaches showed up to hear what Brown had to say.

More than 1,000 area coaches were in attendance Tuesday to learn from the 76ers head coach and his staff at the Sixers' training complex in Camden.

Brett Brown, hosting the third annual Coach the Coaches Clinic, showed the crowd drills, fielded questions, and gave advice on everything from spacing to analytics.

"I enjoy it, is the bottom line," Brown said when asked what he gains from the event. "To be able to get to the kids and just do the right thing by the city and help grow the 76ers as an organization."

The turnout for the coaches clinic, as well as all things Sixers-related, has grown exponentially since its inaugural event. The buzz around the players and their potential has fans clamoring for more of the home team.

Brown said he understands the excitement surrounding players such as Joel Embiid, Markelle Fultz, and Ben Simmons, and he said he expects nothing less from what he calls "a basketball-driven city."

"It comes with the territory. With exposure, with expectations, and with success, the fans are going to want more," he said.

With such expectations and excitement surrounding the Sixers and with words such as "playoffs" and "all-stars" used more often, the pressure is on the team to deliver. But Brown said he isn't letting it get to him.

"I'm more concerned with the homework than with the exam. I want to knock out some good days. I want to handle things with a playoff mentality," Brown said.

And the team is continuing to knock out good days.

From players, owners, and Brown himself, word is that the gym has been alive since June.

Brown said he's proud of the work done and the culture created around the team that wants to improve and put in the extra time. He has been able to watch throughout summer as players take part in voluntary workouts.

The training complex, which Brown bragged has everything from a professional chef to video rooms and workout areas, has been a huge draw for the franchise.

"It's an area that we thought we could make great strides in once we had it get [the players] in here, and they want to come," Brown said. "And come they do."

When the team was told about the coaching clinic, Brown said he left it up to the players to decide who would be on hand to help out. Jahlil Okafor, Robert Covington, Richaun Holmes, T.J. McConnell, Justin Anderson, and James Blackmon Jr. were in attendance, helping demonstrate drills.
