The official launch of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s 122nd season Oct. 5, 2021 featured a performance by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and an Opening Night Celebration led by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin that included selections by Villa-Lobos, Saint-Saëns, Ravel, and the Verizon Hall premiere of Valerie Coleman’s Seven O’Clock Shout, commissioned by the Orchestra and dedicated to the frontline workers of the COVID-19 pandemic.
