What our photographers saw on Wednesday, September 17

Moments from our region as seen by our photographers.

Field-tripping fifth graders from the William M. Meredith School in Queen Village mingle with 42 life-size, bronze statues of the framers of the U.S. Constitution in Signers’ Hall during a visit to the National Constitution Center as it commemorates Sept. 17, 1787, the historic day they added their names to the document, as well as those who dissented. The NCC hosted a day that combined educational and engaging programs with a fun and festive atmosphere. In addition, this year, in honor of America’s upcoming semiquincentennial, they also commemorated the July 4, 1776, signing of the Declaration of Independence.
