On the market: A rowhouse in Brewerytown, built in 2017, for $474,900
The rowhouse comes with six years left on its property tax abatement.
When Juliana and Logan King moved into the new four-bedroom, three-bath rowhouse in Brewerytown in 2017, they knew it was a starter house.
They just didn’t know the start would be so brief. The arrival of a daughter has hastened a move to the suburbs and the Radnor School District, leaving behind a still-new house with six more years of a tax abatement.
“We were ready for grass and space,” says Juliana, project manager for a local hospital.
The couple had earlier been living in a one-bedroom apartment in Center City and found Brewerytown relatively affordable.
Logan, a lawyer, cited proximity to Center City and a short bike ride to his office plus “large closets and a spacious and open feeling.” The couple also noted the 16-foot width of the lot, high ceilings and large windows.
While a lot of construction is changing the neighborhood, Juliana notes that everyone they met has been friendly, and many families have been there for generations.
The open-concept first floor includes a large living room, dining room, and eat-in kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an extra-long island.
The house was largely complete when the Kings moved it, but they did install a pantry in the kitchen. Sliding glass doors lead to the back patio and a see-through floating staircase leads to the second floor.
The second floor has two bedrooms, a full bath and a washer-dryer.
The primary bedroom suite on the third floor has a large walk-in closet and a spa-like bathroom, with a double vanity, spacious glass shower with multiple showerheads, and a deep soaking tub.
There are also a roof deck and finished basement, sprinkler system and security system.
The home is a short bus ride to Center City and within walking distance of Fairmount Park and the Philadelphia Zoo.
It is listed by Scott Frith of Compass for $474,900.
