Brandon Miller is now favored to be selected No. 2 over Scoot Henderson in the NBA draft
Henderson was a slight favorite to join the Charlotte Hornets after the NBA draft lottery, but Miller has emerged as the potential pick.
The NBA season has come to a close, with the Denver Nuggets winning their first NBA title in five games over the Miami Heat. And it should be no surprise the Nuggets open as favorites to repeat as champions next season.
With a little more than a week until the NBA draft, all attention now shifts to the next wave of potential stars to enter the league. That group is led by Victor Wembanyama, the 19-year-old French-born star of the Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A, who is expected to join the San Antonio Spurs as the top pick.
Much of the debate over the last month centers on the Charlotte Hornets’ No. 2 overall pick, with two likely candidates emerging: NBA G League Ignite star Scoot Henderson and former Alabama standout Brandon Miller.
After the NBA draft lottery on May 16, Wembanyama was a heavy favorite to be the top pick at FanDuel, valued at -20,000, while Henderson was a slight favorite (-105) to go second over Miller (-150). Nearly a month later, Miller has separated himself from Henderson at BetMGM. Here’s a look at the latest odds.

Hornets No. 2 pick odds (via BetMGM)
Miller, who averaged just under 19 points and eight rebounds as a freshman at Alabama, is the favorite at -225, while Henderson, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound guard who averaged 17 points and nearly seven assists per game with the Ignite, is valued at +160.
According to BetMGM, Miller has the highest ticket percentage (28%) and highest handle percentage (75%) among all players to be selected second overall.
The odds are flipped for the Portland Trail Blazers, No. 3 overall; Miller was the small favorite last month at FanDuel, valued at +125. Now, Henderson is the favorite to go third at BetMGM, with -175 odds to be selected by Portland.
It is worth noting that both players have conducted private workouts this week with the Hornets, and Charlotte has not given any indication publicly where it may go on draft night.
