2026 women’s basketball transfer portal tracker: Big 5 moves, where Philly-area standouts are going

More than 1,300 Division I women’s basketball players were in the portal after it opened on Tuesday. We're tracking where the Big 5 and Philly-area players are going.

The Big 5 women's college basketball coaches, Mike McLaughlin (Penn), Denise Dillon (Villanova), Amy Mallon (Drexel), Diane Richardson (Temple), Mountain MacGillivray (La Salle), and Cindy Griffin (St. Joseph's) will be using the transfer portal to fill their roster needs.

The women’s college basketball season ended with Philadelphia’s Dawn Staley coaching South Carolina to the championship game.

But as UCLA was cutting down the nets in Phoenix, the page was turning to next season. More than 1,300 Division I players were in the portal in the two days after it opened, and the annual free agency period is well underway.

Big 5 teams certainly won’t be immune to losing talent, and we’ll be tracking it all here, from the Philly-area schools losing players and signing others to local players at non-Big 5 schools entering the portal, too.
