Eagles Friday injury report: Goedert a go, Jurgens questionable

The big story on Friday was the return of tight end Dallas Goedert and center Cam Jurgens to practice after both missed Thursday's session. But the team's final injury report of the week revealed that they didn't practice to the same level, and only one is guaranteed to go on Sunday.

Goedert was a full participant, and did not receive an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Jurgens, meanwhile, was limited and is listed as questionable for the NFC championship.

Here's the full injury report from the team...

  1. Out: WR Britain Covey (neck), DT Byron Young (hamstring)

  2. Questionable: C Cam Jurgens (back)

Jalen Hurts expects to wear a knee brace Sunday

Jalen Hurts said Friday that the left knee injury he suffered last Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams was “progressing,” but noted that he would “anticipate” wearing a brace against Washington. The 26-year-old quarterback was a full participant in Thursday’s and Friday’s practices.

Saquon Barkley nearing full season rushing record

Saquon Barkley averaged 148 yards in two games against Washington this season. Barkley needs exactly 148 yards to break the record for most rushing yards in a season, including the playoffs.

Barkley, Eagles have torched the Commanders on the ground

Washington gave up over 200 rushing yards in both games against the Eagles, and had the third highest total in the league overall. But excluding the two Eagles games, Washington gave up an average of 112 yards per game, lower than the league average of 119 yards.

Dallas Goedert says he's playing Sunday

Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert, who missed the first two days of practice this week with an ankle injury, said he'll be back on the field Sunday against the Commanders. Goedert was at practice on Friday.

Cam Jurgens (back) was also practicing on Friday. The final injury report comes out later this afternoon.

Art Museum offering a discount if you wear Eagles gear

Philadelphia Eagles’ fans have developed a reputation over the years, which includes throwing snowballs, booing their team, and tailgating hard.

But fans with more refined taste also enjoy perks.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is offering $5 off admission to visitors in Eagles gear all weekend, starting Friday and through Monday morning, the day after the Birds will play the Washington Commanders for a spot in Super Bowl LIX.

Cam Jurgens and Dallas Goedert return to practice

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni didn't tip his hand during his pre-practice press conference, but when the players took the field shortly after, fans saw what they were hoping to see: center Cam Jurgens (back) and tight end Dallas Goedert (ankle) warming up.

The two Eagles starters had missed practice so far this week, so Friday is a big test as they prepare to face the Commanders on Sunday. The team's official injury report comes out later this afternoon, so we'll have to wait to see if they were limited of full participants and if they have game status designations (like questionable or doubtful).

But this is certainly a step in the right direction.

Nick Sirianni says Cam Jurgens is 'progressing' but offers little else

Eagles center Cam Jurgens and tight end Dallas Goedert didn’t participate in practice on Thursday ahead of the Eagles NFC championship game against the Washington Commanders. Goedert (ankle) was seen attending practice while Jurgens (back) wasn’t present during the media portion on Thursday.

During Friday’s press conference, head coach Nick Sirianni was asked if Jurgens will practice today.

“We’ll see, we’ll see," he said. "I can say he’s progressing. But we’ll see where he is and you guys will get a report later today.”

Get a Bird Dog in Philly, complete with a green bun

Ahead of the NFC championship game, Eagles fans can get into the playoff spirit by wearing their favorite Eagles green — and by eating it too?

Dietz & Watson, an official sponsor of the Eagles, is reintroducing its Bird Dogs, an original hot dog recipe topped with french fried onions, roasted long hots, provolone cheese, and served on an Eagles-green roll. The roll is baked by another local staple, Amoroso’s.

Philly restaurants — including Mawn and Middle Child — have collaborated with Dietz & Watson and Amoroso’s to create their own enhanced Bird Dog creations for the weekend.

Eagles to host drone show over Art Museum on Saturday

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No — it’s a gaggle of kelly green drones!

The Philadelphia Eagles will be hosting a drone show over the Philadelphia Museum of Art Saturday at 7 p.m.

For approximately 10 minutes, the Philly sky will be lit by a brigade of drones programmed to spell out things like “Go Birds” or the “E-A-G-L-E-S” chant (in case some people need a refresher).

Eagles injury report

Here are the latest injury updates

  1. Jalen Hurts, quarterback: Hurts (knee) is trending in the right direction and expected to play Sunday. He was a full participant in practice Thursday.

  2. Quinyon Mitchell, cornerback: Mitchell (shoulder) was also a full participant in Thursday's practice, an upgrade over Wednesday.

  3. Cam Jurgens, center: Jurgens (back) didn't attend practice Thursday, but told reporters he expects to play Sunday.

  4. Dallas Goedert, tight end: Goedert (ankle) was at practice Thursday but didn't participate after being listed as a nonparticipant on the estimated injury report Wednesday

  5. Britain Covey, wide receiver: Covey (neck) was listed as a limited participant for the second straight day after coming off injured reserve.

  6. Brandon Graham, defensive end: Graham suffered a tricep injury in Week 12 against the Rams that ended his season, but hinted Tuesday he could play if the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl.

What if Cam Jurgens can't play Sunday?

With Cam Jurgens absent from practice Thursday with a back injury, left guard Landon Dickerson assumed his role at center in individual drills during the portion of practice that was open to the media. Tyler Steen, the second-year depth offensive lineman, took Dickerson’s typical post at left guard.

When Nick Sirianni was asked about his level of concern for Jurgens’ availability on Sunday, the Eagles head coach responded, “We’ll see where he is. It’s hard to predict these things this far out.”

However, Dickerson answered affirmatively when asked if he expects Jurgens to play against Washington.

Eagles Bluesky account isn't run by the team

The Eagles are one of the few teams that have an account on BlueSky, the upstart social media network attempting to replace Elon Musk’s X.

Or do they?

The New England Patriots had an account on Bluesky but were told by the NFL to remove it, team executive Fred Kirsch said on the Patriots Unfiltered podcast last week.

NFL playoff schedule

A little over two days. That's all that stands between the Eagles and a potential return to the Super Bowl.

The Eagles will host the Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game Sunday, with the winner punching their ticket to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.

Over in the AFC championship game, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will face off in the playoffs against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs for the fourth time in five seasons. Can the Bills finally get a win?
