Where to get takeout guacamole for your Super Bowl party
Need to feed a crowd with chips and dip? Here's where to get guacamole by the pint, quart, tray, and half-gallon.
Avocados and the Super Bowl have gone hand in hand since at least the early ’90s, when marketers devised the Guacamole Bowl and the fruit once nicknamed the “alligator pear” shot up in popularity. While many folks mash up their own, this year, consider skipping the hassle — all the ripe avocados at the store will be picked over, anyway.
Instead, order guac to-go by the pint, quart, or even half-gallon from any of the restaurants below. As a bonus, many of them throw in tortilla chips (and occasionally salsa).
Take note: Most spots advise calling in advance for large-quantity orders. So if you’ve got a crowd coming, pick up the phone today. And for smaller, last-minute orders, try your local taqueria; many sell guacamole to go.
