The Candle Bar, a Nashville-based mini-chain that allows customers to create their own candles and sip wine in the process, has inked a lease at 1733 Chestnut St. near Rittenhouse Square. It’s the former Beans Beauty Supply, across from Di Bruno Bros.

It’s expected to open in late 2019.

The Candle Bar’s candle-pouring experience is a DIY counterpart to its sister company, Paddywax. Candle Bar customers choose a vessel, add scents from a fragrance library, place their wick, and pour the wax. Meanwhile, employees pour the wine.

Brittany Goldberg of MSC Retail, who brokered the lease, said it would be the Candle Bar’s first location outside of Nashville, Charlotte, Dallas, and Austin, Texas.

Besides Paddywax products, the store will sell merchandise from Designworks Ink (a line of decorative stationery) and Olivina Men (men’s grooming essentials) in addition to American-made jewelry, giftable sweets, modern textiles, and all-natural skincare items.

This company is unrelated to Wax + Wine, a BYOB candle-making business in Washington Square West.
