King of Prussia restaurants and stores raised more than $54,000 for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia during the district’s restaurant and retail week in March, organizers said this week — more than twice the amount collected last year.
The event, held annually since 2014, was organized to support CHOP’s King of Prussia Specialty Care & Surgery Center. It is hosted by the King of Prussia District.
From March 11 to 17, 44 KOP restaurants including the Bonefish Grill, Revolution Chop House and Founding Farmers offered prix fixe menus and donated a portion of proceeds to CHOP’s KOP location. Twenty-nine local shops also donated a portion of their proceeds. The week included special events at participating restaurants and retailers, like a fashion pop-up and a talk on how runners can prevent injuries.
Local officials and CHOP representatives will celebrate at a check presentation ceremony to be held at 2 p.m. May 7 at the Savor Food Court in the King of Prussia Mall.
